Nobody buys a filthy header. Whether it's a clearing sale, a trade-in on a new tractor, a lease return or just end-of-season storage, clean, well-presented machinery brings more money, inspects faster and is easier to maintain. It's also a biosecurity matter — moving dirty equipment between properties moves weed seeds and disease with it.
Utes, 4WDs and anything that fits through the door come to our Spring Gully studio. For a clearing-sale line-up or large machinery that isn't practical to move, we can arrange to come to the property around Bendigo, Marong, Elmore, Goornong, Axedale and Heathcote. Either way we have the degreasers, foam cannons and pressure equipment for serious grime, and we polish and protect cab and bonnet paint so machinery looks as good as it runs.
What's included in a machinery detail
- Heavy degrease and pressure wash of chassis, running gear and underbody
- Removal of chaff, dust, mud, grease and fertiliser residue
- Radiators, screens and engine bays cleaned (safely)
- Cab interior deep-cleaned — seats, floors, dash, glass and air vents
- Cab and bonnet paint polished to remove UV oxidation and restore colour
- Glass, lights and mirrors cleaned and headlights restored where faded
- Tyres, rims and chrome/alloy brightened
- Sealant or ceramic coating on painted surfaces to resist dust and chemicals
- Biosecurity wash-downs for machinery moving between properties
Presentation for clearing sales and trade-ins
At a clearing sale, buyers walk the line in a couple of hours and bid on what looks cared-for. A tractor with faded red paint and a cab full of dust reads as 'hard life'; the same tractor with its paint polished back, glass clear and cab clean reads as 'owner looked after it'. That difference is routinely thousands of dollars on larger machinery.
Dealers appraising a trade-in do the same arithmetic. Clean machinery is easier to inspect — leaks and cracks are visible, so there's no 'unknowns' discount — and it's ready to go on the yard without a reconditioning cost.
Oxidised machinery paint responds very well to polishing. Faded Case red, John Deere green and New Holland blue are usually single-stage paints that chalk on the surface; compounding takes the chalk off and brings the colour back dramatically. A sealant or ceramic coating afterwards keeps dust, spray residue and fertiliser from biting in again.
How we detail machinery
- 01
Quote
Tell us what you've got, where it is and what it's for — sale, storage or inspection — and we'll quote the lot, studio or on-farm.
- 02
Degrease & wash
Heavy degreasing and pressure washing to strip chaff, mud, grease and residue.
- 03
Cab
Interior deep-clean, glass, vents and seats.
- 04
Polish
Faded paint compounded and polished; lights restored; alloy and chrome brightened.
- 05
Protect
Sealant or ceramic coating on painted surfaces.
What affects the price
We quote every job individually rather than publishing a one-size price, because these are the things that actually move it:
- Machine type and size — ute vs tractor vs header with front
- Level of contamination and whether a biosecurity-grade wash-down is needed
- Paint polishing and protection options
- Number of machines (clearing sale packages available)
Send us the vehicle, suburb and a photo or two and we'll give you a fixed price — no obligation.
Good for
- Clearing sales and online machinery auctions
- Trade-ins and lease returns
- End-of-season storage
- Biosecurity wash-downs between properties
- Farm utes and 4WDs

Farm Equipment & Machinery Detailing questions
Do you come to the farm?
For clearing-sale line-ups and machinery that isn't practical to move, yes — by arrangement. Utes, 4WDs and smaller gear come to our Spring Gully studio.
Can you clean a whole line-up before a clearing sale?
Yes — that's one of our most common machinery jobs. Give us a list and a date and we'll quote the lot and schedule it before the sale.
Can you bring back faded paint on a tractor?
Almost always. Chalked single-stage machinery paint polishes up remarkably well. Very old, thin paint has limits, but the improvement is still big.
Do you do biosecurity wash-downs?
Yes — thorough wash-downs of machinery moving between properties to remove soil, seed and plant material, with attention to radiators, undercarriage and crevices.
